Numbers-First Management · Part 1

The 11 pains that keep business owners stuck

This is the first part of a growing guide to Numbers-First Management, the finance-led coaching framework I use with owner-managed businesses in Malta. It starts where owners start: with what hurts.

Book contents

How the book is organised

Part 1 · The pains11 chapters, one per problem. You are here.
Part 2 · The frameworkOne chapter per tool: Year Map, Quarter Commitments, Weekly Dials, Money Engine, Weekly Table, Quarter Day, Fit Check.
Part 3 · Putting it to workHow a business moves to the new rhythm. Coming soon.

Each chapter takes one pain, explains why it happens, shows what it costs with a worked example, gives you a two-minute self-check, and points to the part of the framework that fixes it. The chapters run in order, because in most businesses each pain feeds the next. If one is shouting louder than the others, start there.

The map: which tool fixes which pain

Read across to see which parts of the framework work on each pain. Read down to see how much one tool carries. The Weekly Dials appear almost everywhere, which is why they are usually where the work starts.
